$30.00 - $60.00/hour + OT + Per Diem
THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a Texas-headquartered EPC and electrical services provider with a growing critical power division supporting industrial, commercial, and mission-critical customers across Texas and expanding nationwide. They are adding a Critical Power Service Technician to their field service team focused on UPS systems, battery infrastructure, automatic transfer switches, and related standby power equipment.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing field service role supporting the equipment that keeps hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, and other critical facilities operational. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, emergency response, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and field modifications while maintaining detailed service documentation.
The role is currently based out of Houston, TX, with additional projects and expansion opportunities coming online nationwide. Candidates with UPS service, battery systems, power electronics, or critical infrastructure experience who are open to travel are encouraged to apply.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $60.00/hour depending on experience and certifications
Overtime and on-call premium pay available
Travel per diem provided

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on UPS systems, battery strings, ATS equipment, and related critical power infrastructure
Support commissioning activities including test procedures, reporting, and on-site coordination
Complete field service work orders while maintaining high technical and customer service standards
Coordinate with manufacturer technical support to resolve operational and maintenance issues
Build and maintain vendor relationships to support parts procurement and technical resources
Deliver customer and junior technician training on equipment operation and maintenance
Lead and mentor technicians as assigned while promoting safe work practices
Develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Scopes of Work (SOWs) for critical environment projects
Evaluate facility processes and recommend operational reliability improvements
Support shop operations, testing equipment maintenance, and legacy system rebuilds when not deployed to field assignments
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum two (2) years of experience in power systems, battery technologies, electronics, or related electrical field service work
High school diploma or GED required
Electrical technology certificate or technical training preferred
Valid driver's license with ability to support vehicle-based dispatch assignments
Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical and power electronic systems
Ability to pass customer-required background checks and drug screenings
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Willingness to travel and support weekend or emergency response assignments as required
