About the opportunity
Our client, a leading global provider of critical power and thermal infrastructure for data centers, needs one on-site leader to own its scope on a major hyperscale build. The campus in Santa Teresa, NM, just outside El Paso, has four buildings; our client is responsible for two of them.
The client now supplies nearly every infrastructure line on site: thermal, AC power, switchgear, busway, integrated infrastructure solutions and power kits. Its teams also assemble units and support installation. As Data Center Manager, you are the single point of ownership for the entire job site, with specialist leads for each line of business, field teams, administrative staff and logistics personnel working under you.
This is a top-priority hire with leadership backing, and the project kicks off within weeks.
What you'll do
Own the job site: Lead all on-site construction activity from site preparation through commissioning, including equipment deployment, assembly and L2/L3 testing support.
Hold the license: Obtain and maintain a New Mexico General Contractor's license on the company's behalf.
Run logistics: Make sure every product line shipping to site has arrival, staging and storage planned, and request additional parts before they become a bottleneck.
Manage vendors: Oversee general contractors, subcontractors and third-party vendors for licensing, scope, schedule and quality compliance.
Control schedule and budget: Track progress, report to stakeholders, join look-ahead planning and schedule recovery, and correct course early.
Coordinate with the GC: Attend daily GC coordination meetings, sequence work between company crews and GC-controlled activities, and resolve access, logistics and trade-interface issues.
Lead people: Direct site personnel, service technicians, subcontractors and field leaders; forecast labor and plan manpower against construction and commissioning milestones.
Keep the site safe and compliant: Enforce safety standards, OSHA rules, codes and client requirements, and ensure everyone has access, training, certifications and customer onboarding completed.
Manage risk: Spot safety issues, design conflicts and other risks early and put mitigation in place.
Support mobilization and demobilization at the start and close of the project.

Hands-on Procore experience, plus strong Excel and Smartsheet skills.
Ability to work on site five days a week for the full project duration.
