About this opportunity

OVERVIEW

Our client, a leading provider of electrical power services, is seeking a Field Service Manager to lead and grow their Testing Department. This individual will be responsible for driving operational performance, managing field teams, and ensuring high-quality service delivery across projects.

This is a leadership role ideal for someone with a strong technical background in electrical testing who is ready to take ownership of team development, safety, and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Leadership

Oversee daily operations of the Testing Department

Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and field technicians (levels 1 - 4)

Drive productivity, utilization, and overall team performance

Partner cross-functionally with Sales, HR, and Finance

Technical Oversight

Provide guidance on electrical testing procedures and standards

Support field teams, customers, and internal stakeholders with technical expertise

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations

Training & Development

Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing development of technical staff

Mentor team members toward certifications and career growth

Conduct performance reviews and provide continuous feedback

Scheduling & Resource Management

Optimize scheduling and workforce utilization

Ensure proper allocation and maintenance of tools and equipment

Track technician skillsets and align resources accordingly

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Review and approve reports and testing documentation

Maintain high standards for accuracy and timeliness

Identify areas for operational improvement and implement solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

NETA Level III certification (or higher) strongly preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred

5+ years of experience in electrical testing or power systems

3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Proven leadership and team management ability

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Highly organized with attention to detail

Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer systems

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to pass background and drug screening

Willingness to travel up to 50%
